Sample Excerpt from J-ME

“I can give you your love back if you so wish it. A chance that you will eventually hear her speak her love. Do you wish this?”

  He could only nod.

“But, it may take many tries, Years perhaps. Do you want this?”

His answer was instantaneous, “Yes more than anything I want Ysabel’s love.”

  “So then it is decided!”

With one swift movement Mauvisin grabbed his hand in it placed a single smooth stone.

“She must profess her love for you. From her own lips the words must come. Not until she speaks it will you be able to open your heart to her. Years will pass a hundred for each broken piece. You will weave together your love from the scars she leaves behind.”

She released his hand and bid him leave. One outside again he opened his hand, the small stone she had placed there was warm and seemed to gleam form the inside. He stared at it for what seemed an eternity. He knew he recognized it and could not take his gaze from it. The shade and shape matched her almond hazel eyes. His heart broke again and he slept. A hundred years he slept.

This is just a rough draft of the curse that will shape the bases of my story. Critics are more than welcome. I know it’s still very elementary. Things will evolve and change as I do more research and process things over in my head. Still, I’m fairly happy with my idea.

Writing Calls for…

Writing, no matter how creative you feel you are can always give you more than you’ve bargained for. I have discovered that there is a tremendous amount of research involved. That is if you are wanting everything to seamlessly fit together. For example, I’m writing based on medieval fairy tales of magic and love. What I’ve be faced with are names. In 1446 most women we not given surnames. Contrary to what most people have told me by the time the 1440’s rolled around people were no longer named after their chosen trade. Yet there are still names that were not used or had not been mentioned and are not historically accurate. Middle names were non excitant, and hyphenated names were very rare. So I’m looking at every character I begin has at least one days worth of research attached with it. Seeing that my story will be expanding into the 1600’s and then the 1800’s I am also doing a lot of research in how names evolve and changes into some of the modern names we now know. I’m sure if I wasn’t so picky I could write a story be satisfied and it would never be read or frankly no good. So Here’s my thumbs up to all the writers who put the effort and research into what they see is their vision. This is for those who want their imagination to flow seamlessly with time and era. I am hoping to join you not sure when but hope is a good thing!

This is just for me….

So I’m going through a lot lately. But, I’ve decided that I have got to take charge. Make a move. A movement all my own. So, here it is. This past week we had a huge county wide yard sale and I hate doing yard sales. I’m not above shopping at them I just never have the patience to prepare one and stay at it all day long. But the sad thing is I have so many things that I need to part with and get rid of… So what’s the next best thingto a yard sale? Ebay baby! That’s right I’ve already made myself 41.50 richer in three days!!! I’ve got a lot more things to basically get rid of and make a little profit off of as well. From baby clothes that even at pennies to the dollar well help me out, to a huge whole sale box of yarn that I absolutely hate to use. Here’s looking at me. I’m Jami here me roar ha ha. No wait, RAWR!!!
